WHO I AM

Brief Bio

Hi there! I am an ecologist who thinks a lot about how people are impacting our natural world.

I am currently a postdoc working with Dr. Laura Dee. We are improving an adaptive management model used by the Grasslands Monitoring Team in Minnesota. This  model will provide recommendations for how to best manage remnant prairies with a focus on improving or maintaining native diversity.

I previously worked with Drs. Meghan Avolio and Paul Ferraro at Johns Hopkins University. I managed the CoRRE database and learned about techniques to infer causal relationships from observational studies.

I received my PhD from the University of Minnesota where I was advised by Forest Isbell and Dave Tilman. During my PhD, I worked at Cedar Creek LTER and fell in love with thinking about long-term pressures on communities.

When I am not donning my ecologist hat, I like to do all the outdoorsy things like hiking, canoeing, and xc skiing. I enjoy spending time in my garden and playing with my two dogs. I love fiber arts and am currently into knitting and cross stitch. I am also an avid reader and enjoy a good fantasy or sci-fi book.
